father’s day gift ideas – 2018

The holiday comes around every year, and every year, it’s a challenge to try and find a new and fun gift.  This list does not include the regular BBQ items, or a necktie.  This guide is for the dad who is a bit more laid back (perhaps forgetful!) and perhaps in need of a bit more efficiency!

A Leather Catchall – My kids picked one up from a local stationary store, but I can’t find it online!  No more losing his wallet, or keys.  This one is similar to what we picked up.

Mophie Wireless charger – good for iPhone 8/8+/X, Samsung and other Qi-enabled devices.  This wireless charger is best since it has the largest actual charging area.  Plug it in right next to the catchall on your dresser and Dad will be able to grab all his necessities in order to rush out the door to the kids’ next activity!

Amazon Echo – Probably the best item to start or add to your smart home.  Who doesn’t have an Amazon account?  My husband is able to listen to his audio books, music, set a timer, ask questions, or buy almost anything!  We bought one for the kitchen last year and it has been the greatest helper in the house, and source of entertainment.  If you are feeling extra generous, sign up for an Amazon Music subscription too!

incredibles2

Incredibles 2!  – This is obvious 🙂  Who else would be celebrating Father’s Day except for Mr. Incredible?! If you are in L.A. I recommend going to Disney’s El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.  It’s always a fun experience as they usually have additional entertainment before the movie!  As a bonus, Disney put an Incredibles 2 Activity Packet on their website – take a look here  and go to Fandango for showtimes near you!

Tile – These things are probably the best invention ever.  Everyone in this house is constantly trying to find something – phone, keys, backpack, wallet.  It works via bluetooth to track your lost items…  you know, if Dad happens to forget to put his items in the catchall!

WeLoveYousign

And last but not least, if you want to give a gift that’s a bit more sentimental – here’s a DIY idea.  I got this idea off Pinterest many years ago, but changed it slightly.  It’s a sign made from a wood plank – the one seen here I picked up from my local hardware store, it’s about 8″x60″.

Whatever you decide, I’m sure the dad in your life will enjoy his day just by spending time with his loved ones.  Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!
